Sidekick Client Truffle Shuffle Scores Shark Tank Deal With Mark Cuban
Truffle Shuffle worked with Sidekick to pivot during the pandemic and landed a deal with Mark Cuban on ABC's Shark Tank.

It’s been a pleasure working with the Truffle Shuffle team to help the brand scale their digital presence, make the most out of the pandemic, and prepare for their Shark Tank premier.
The Making of Truffle Shuffle
Founders Jason McKinney, Tyler Vorce, and Sarah McKinney met while working in Michelin-starred restaurants, including The French Laundry. Chefs Jason and Tyler loved incorporating truffles into their dishes and Sarah, a member of the French Laundry’s front of house staff, Sarah, shared their passion for the esteemed fungi. Together, they were in awe of how one dish, made with fresh truffles and a few simple ingredients, could create special, ever-lasting memories for diners.
The team conceived and launched Truffle Shuffle on a mission to provide the finest truffle products and consciously sourced and traced fresh truffles. As Truffle Shuffle states, “It is our mission to personally source the best-in-class truffles and create the finest truffle products in the world. We also serve and support our community by volunteering and donating a portion of our profits to 1% For The Planet, with hope of solving the world's problems, one truffle at a time.”
Along Came the Pandemic
An all too familiar story, the COVID-19 pandemic forced the Truffle Shuffle team to lean into the agility formed by their collective years in the restaurant industry. Soon, Truffle Shuffle had transformed into a virtual cooking studio allowing their customers to become master chefs in their own kitchen. The Truffle Shuffle chefs sent out fully stocked recipe kits and hosted their classes via Zoom. The idea took off and now Truffle Shuffle has collaborated with guests like Snoop Dogg and the cast of Hamilton.
Truffle Shuffle’s digital presence is critical since 100% of their public, live cooking experience and CPG sales were run through their Shopify website. Sidekick built a completely custom Shopify ecommerce store for Truffle Shuffle prior to their Shark Tank airing to ensure their website was optimized to convert sales, best presented their fun, yet high-end brand, and promote the other aspects of the business such as private events.
Truffle Shuffle on the Silver Screen
Truffle Shuffle’s Shark Tank episode aired Friday, April 16th at 8 PM PST on ABC and can be viewed on abc.com. After heated negotiations with Sharks Kevin O’Leary (aka Mr. Wonderful), Robert Herjavec, and Mark Cuban, Chefs Jason and Tyler accepted an offer from Cuban, their target Shark, to propel the Truffle Shuffle brand to the next level.
Truffle Shuffle isn’t Sidekick’s only client to be featured on Shark Tank. Clients Fat Shack (S.10 E.23), Foam Party Hats (S.12 E.5), and IceBeanie (S.12 E.13) also had successful appearances in the tank.
